lilliput land co-operative nursery school

Lilliput Land provides a happy and safe environment for young children, where they can grow intellectually, physically and socially. Our primary goal is to assist your child in their social development, and to provide gentle preparation for the school years.

The two teachers at Lilliput Land are committed to creating a learning environment that is stimulating and rewarding, where self-esteem and self-confidence are nurtured, and self-expression and creativity are encouraged. The program allows each child to develop at their own pace.

The children are encouraged to learn by doing, and to come to understand the effects of their actions upon others. The children are never forced to accomplish more than they feel ready to attempt, while being encouraged to try new skills.

Brandy Cannady

Hi, I’m Brandy Cannady, the supervisor and teacher of Lilliput Land Nursery school. I’m an RECE who’s been working in childcare for over 20 years and have worked in many settings including, daycares, nursery schools and as a nanny. I’ve been with Lilliput Land since 2014. I’m passionate about learning along with children and teaching them. It is my belief that children should be able to explore and question their surroundings and I enjoy supporting them in that. It’s amazing what they can do when they’re able to play freely and be creative! I love working at Lilliput Land as it gives me the opportunity to learn with the children and get to know some amazing families in our community.  I have 2 teenaged children of my own (one who attended Lilliput Land as a toddler) and a wonderful husband, Dan. I look forward to meeting and getting to know your families.

Danielle Masci

Hi, my name is Danielle Masci. I was born and raised in Guelph. After high school, I spent two years in North Vancouver studying psychology. I fell in love with child psychology and development in the early years. When I came back to Guelph, I decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. Since graduating from Conestoga College in 2010, I have worked in a licensed childcare centre as both a teacher and an inclusion facilitator, and was a program facilitator at the Ontario Early Years Centre. I have been working alongside Brandy at Lilliput Land since 2017.  I have two school aged children, who both attended Lilliput Land. After having my children, my passion for working with children and families has only grown. I truly believe that children learn best in an environment where they feel safe and loved; an environment where they can take risks, explore and learn in their own unique way. I also believe that a positive relationship between families/caregivers and educators can be very powerful in creating a high quality, inclusive program that children are excited to attend.
